From Pastures to Preservation

A Sustainable Future for the Cerrado

Join us in transforming our family-owned property. With your support, we can gradually replace cattle grazing with sustainable conservation efforts and secure a future for the Cerrado’s biodiversity.

From Pastures to Preservation: An Experiment in Sustainability

In the heart of the Brazilian Cerrado, we are attempting something new: transforming a family-owned property, traditionally used for cattle grazing, into a sustainable conservation area. Our goal is to gradually replace cattle grazing with restoration efforts as donations and community support grow. With your help, we believe it’s possible to preserve this vital ecosystem and make this transition sustainable.

An Experimental Project: Seeking Balance Between Sustainability and Livelihood

Our story is about exploration and gradual transformation. For years, our small property in northern Minas Gerais was used for cattle grazing. We understand that cattle production plays an essential economic role, but we are committed to finding a new path—one that balances sustainability with financial health.
The goal is to progressively eliminate cattle grazing as donations grow and allow us to focus entirely on restoring the land. This gradual transition ensures that the property remains financially viable throughout the process. For now, we keep a small herd to support basic operations, but we are working toward a future where the entire property is dedicated to conservation, supported by donors and the community.

Vision and Mission

Vision: To become an inspiring model of sustainable transition, showing that it is possible to transform rural cattle-grazing properties into conservation areas, preserving the biodiversity of the Cerrado and ensuring natural resources for future generations.

Mission: To restore degraded areas of the Cerrado, gradually eliminate cattle grazing, and maintain the property’s sustainability through donations and community support. Our goal is to protect local fauna and flora, and contribute to the preservation of water resources that originate in the Cerrado.

An Uncertain Path Toward Change

Transforming the property will take time and patience. Maintaining a small herd is essential for short-term financial stability, but our goal is clear: As donations increase, we will gradually reduce cattle grazing until we can fully dedicate the property to conservation.
We are restoring degraded areas by planting native trees . Each step forward brings us closer to a future where the land supports biodiversity and water resources through community involvement and financial support from donors.

Help Us Make the Transition

Your support is crucial to helping us reduce cattle grazing and focus entirely on conservation. Every contribution allows us to plant more trees, monitor wildlife, and take one step closer to a sustainable future without grazing. Here are a few ways you can support our mission:

Donate via Ko-fi: Every donation goes directly to our restoration efforts and helps us eliminate cattle grazing over time.

Each notebook sale helps support our restoration work. However, we earn only $1.50 per notebook sold, so direct donations make a bigger impact.
